The Curio story
Curio has seen rapid international growth through the curiosity and creativity of our people.
Curio is an education consulting, learning design and development and platform services organisation established in 2015. We seek to bring together the creative and curious for human improvement, driven through the power of learning.
Making the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Fast Starters list in 2018 and 2017, and the Financial Times top 10 fastest growing education companies in 2019, 2020 and 2021, Curio has grown to over 200 people in just five years. Our global presence includes offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Texas, and London, with emerging outposts in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Our timeline
2015 - Foundation
Our journey begins in Melbourne, whilst working with the management consulting firm Nous, David begins working on the Sessions platform.
- 2015 - Fulltime
- David starts working at Curio full time in October 2016. Academy (now Curio Faculty) is born and RMIT Online is one of the first clients.
- 2017 - Recognition
- Finalists in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Fast starters 2017 list. Company grows.
- 2018 - Strategic opportunity
- Learning experience design and development commences as new strategic offering.
- 2019 - New offices
Course Hub (formerly known as Palette) is created and the London office officially opens as well as the Sydney space.
- 2020 - Pandemic
Curio continues to grow and expand in the midst of the global pandemic. Start to integrate Curio faculty more into the broader Curio-verse.
- 2021 - Continual growth
Make the fastest growing companies in AsiaPac with the Financial Times. Launch of the Scaffold platform. Reach 200 Curions.
- 2022 - Secure seed funding
First Curio Ventures investment.
